What is self storage?

Self storage is a service offering flexible DIY storage for business and domestic customers. We provide clean, dry, secure storage rooms, access to which is free of charge seven days a week. You lock your room with your own padlock ensuring only you have access to your goods.

What is the cost of storing with you?

The cost of a storage room depends on the size required. A price can then be quoted for the correct size room. We suggest that you contact us with your storage enquiry.

Can I use your van?

Yes, our van is available for local trips to move your belongings in and out of storage. Click here to view conditions for use of van.

Are my belongings insured?

It is a requirement that your belongings are insured either through us or through a 3rd party such as your house contents insurers. The insurance cover that we provide is reasonably priced and similar to house contents insurance.

Are there any hidden extras?

No, the price you are quoted includes your storage charge, rates, service charges, utility bills and maintenance costs. You will need a padlock to secure your room, and you should take out contents insurance which we can provide.

A refundable security deposit equivalent to a months storage charge is payable at the outset, and refunded when you vacate your storage room.

Do I pay weekly or monthly?

We invoice customers on a calendar month basis payable in advance. After the 2 week minimum we refund any unused storage charges that you have paid.

Do you offer any discounts?

For longer term storers we are able to offer discounts against pre-payments –

  • 4% off for 6 months prepayment
  • 8% off for 12 months prepayment

How can I pay for my storage?

The simplest payment method is to set up a standing order, alternatively over the phone by credit/debit card. However cheque or cash is accepted.

How often can I have access to my goods and what is the cost?

We offer unlimited access to your goods six days a week. Access is FREE.

Do I have to book a unit?

No, you can fill in your storage agreement today and move in without delay. However to be guaranteed a unit of a specific size, it is advisable to book your unit in advance. A reservation deposit of £20 will guarantee you the space you booked. The £20 reservation deposit is deducted from your first periods rent.

What are your opening hours?

Rome Street and Kingstown

Our storage opening hours are:

  • Monday - Friday: 0800 - 1800hrs
  • Saturday:            0900 - 1700hrs
  • Sunday:              CLOSED
  • Bank Holidays    CLOSED

How do I get my goods to you?

You can bring your goods in your own vehicle. We have easy loading/unloading access. We can deliver a wooden crate to your door CLICK FOR MOBILE STORAGE. We also have a van which you can use FREE of charge click here to view conditions for use of van. Alternatively we can recommend local van hire or removal companies to help with your transportation.

Can I transfer to a larger or smaller unit?

Yes, you can up or down size as your storage requirements change.

How high are your storage units?

  • Our units in Rome Street are 2.75 metres (9ft.) high
  • Our units in Kingstown are 2.43 metres (8ft.) high

What can I store?

You can store almost anything in our units. The exceptions are obvious items such as; Living items such as animals or plants, food or perishable goods Hazardous materials such as flammable liquids, paints, compressed gases, and explosives Unauthorised or illegal goods etc.

Do you sell boxes and packing supplies?

Yes, we sell various sizes of boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and hanging wardrobe boxes. Other specialist items such as paper or polythene furniture covers. Specialised cartons such as bike, golf, mirror and picture boxes can be ordered specially. Go to the Box Shop to view these items.

Will you accept deliveries to my unit?

Yes, by pre-arrangement we can hold a key to your unit and take delivery of goods for you. We sign for the amount of packages received but not for the contents. This service is offered free of charge, subject to frequency.

Do you have trolleys available?

We have trolleys, hand trucks, and pallet trucks which are available free of charge for customer use. We also have a fork lift truck available for any heavier goods, which can be operated on your behalf by one of our trained staff.
